All the Problems Chemical Peels Can Fix
It can be hard to feel your best when your skin isn’t in peak condition. Fortunately, there is a highly effective way to transform your skin with little risk, and downtime can be customized to fit into your busy life.
Juan-Carlos Caballero, MD, and his team at Warrenton Dermatology & Skin Therapy Center rely on PCA SKIN® chemical peels and the world-renown VI Peel. These expertly formulated treatments offer proven results, whether you have oily, dry, or sensitive skin.
Do you have a skin issue or imperfection? Here are a few of the problems a chemical peel can solve.
The beauty behind chemical peels
What makes a chemical peel such an effective and versatile treatment is that it involves a very straightforward solution: exfoliating the skin. Your skin actually does this naturally, but a chemical peel speeds up the process to encourage new cell production, leaving you with a fresher and healthier appearance.
For more than 25 years, PCA SKIN has been a leader in chemical peels, formulating the best and most innovative options available. The result? They have customizable formulations for all skin types, and their peels get performed more than one million times each year worldwide.
VI Peel is the #1 Chemical Peel world-wide, and is a trusted and painless medium-depth chemical peel that does require a few days of downtime, but the results are worth it! Tested and proven to fight hyperpigmentation, acne, signs of aging, melasma, and more - these peels can be done on all skin types and tones, and can be used as a stand-alone treatment or as a collaborative combo-treatment to accelerate your results from lasers, micro-needling/prp and injectables.
Bottom line, these chemical peels are safe and trustworthy skin care treatments you can rely on to improve your skin.
Problems chemical peels can treat
Technically, nearly anyone can benefit from a chemical peel, because peels visibly improve the appearance of the skin from the inside out. However, they can be especially helpful at correcting specific flaws and skin issues, such as the following:
Acne
PCA SKIN and VI Peel have formulations designed specifically for acne. These treatments can help control oil production and prevent pores from clogging to give you clearer skin and fewer breakouts.
The signs of aging
You may not be able to turn back the hands of time, but you don’t have to let fine lines and wrinkles set into your skin. A chemical peel removes the buildup of dead skin cells and increases healthy cell production to leave you with softer, smoother, more radiant skin.
Discoloration
Are you tired of uneven skin tone, dark spots, and discoloration? PCA SKIN and VI Peels can leave treatment areas brighter, more even, and more vibrant.
Sensitive skin and rosacea
Are you worried that a chemical peel will worsen sensitive skin or cause a rosacea flareup? Think again! We have gentle formulas that not only reduce redness and inflammation but also calm and soothe sensitive and irritated skin at the same time.
What to expect during a chemical peel
During your appointment, our team cleans your skin and applies your customized peel formula. Most of our peels are applied in layers and are self-neutralizing, so they can be left in place with a calming lotion and sunscreen on top. Then, you go home with detailed instructions on how to care for your skin, when to wash your face, and which products to apply after treatment.
You should typically avoid specific activities for at least two days, such as:
- Overheating or excess sweating
- Hair dryers near the treatment site
- Swimming, hot steam, baths, or showers
- Heating, icing, or exfoliating the treated area
You should also diligently avoid direct sun exposure (and always tanning beds) for two weeks.
When it comes to how many peels and exactly what kind you’ll need to reach and maintain your desired results, that will depend on our assessment of your skin and your specific concerns. So, we will suggest a customized treatment plan tailored just to you.
