Restoring Youthfulness with the Fraxel Dual Laser

Laser skin resurfacing treatment could give you a smoother, younger appearance.

Are you wondering if there is a nonsurgical way to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet or brow lines? Hate that you still have acne scars from years of battling acne as a teen? Many of us are dealing with skin problems that make us feel more than a little self-conscious. Luckily, our Warrenton, VA, dermatologist Dr. J.C. Caballero offers the Fraxel Dual laser to target and treat a lot of these issues.

How does the Fraxel Dual laser work?

Using fractional technology, the FDA-approved Fraxel Dual system safely penetrates deep within the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing process to develop new, healthy cells and to improve the radiance of your skin. Fraxel Dual also stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, which enhances skin’s firmness and elasticity.

What problems can Fraxel Dual address?

Fraxel Dual can handle a variety of dermatological issues including,

How many Fraxel treatment sessions will I need?

This is something that our Warrenton, VA, cosmetic dermatologist can discuss with you in more detail once he has the opportunity to examine your skin and talk to you about your treatment goals. In most cases, several treatment sessions are required in order to get the desired results. This can range from two to five sessions, depending on the severity of the issues you are looking to treat with Fraxel. Each treatment session can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes.

Is it painful?

Our dermatologist will monitor and control the strength of the laser and how deeply it will penetrate the skin to achieve the optimal results. It is normal for there to be some stinging or a prickling sensation during treatment; however, we can apply a numbing ointment to the skin before treatment to reduce discomfort.

When will I see results?

You will already notice some improvements right away, and for the next 1-3 months as the stimulation of elastin and collagen improves the skin’s tone and texture.

Is there a recovery period?

It is common for patients to have a sunburn-like appearance for a few days after treatment (those with sensitive skin may take a little longer to heal).

Are you dealing with tired, distressed or aging skin in Warrenton, VA? If so, Fraxel Dual laser therapy could be the right way to give your skin the healthier appearance you want. Call Warrenton Dermatology & Skin Therapy Center today to schedule a consultation with.
